Aspire X-Navigator Aluminum ATX Mid-Tower Case
First impressions are good. The case is pleasing to the eye, which for a lot of us is about as far as we really look when it comes to a case. It has four little LED lights, one located at each of the four front corners. That might be cool for some, but that’s a matter of taste.
The front 5.25″ drives have a cool little bracket that makes putting them in and taking them out very easy. To put in or take out hard drives, the hard drive bracket can be clipped out for ease of unscrewing.
I comes with 4 fans, 2 in the back and one each on the top and at the front. There is also a big 120mm fan in the side of the case to help keep things inside very cool. This does however lead to a lot of noise, not disturbingly much, but enough that it could get bothersome, something the speed control dial tries to help.
Some of the unexpected extras are that there are cable covers for the cables that go from the power supply that react to UV light. It comes with 3 different front covers so you can pick the one that suits you at any one time.
There is a fan speed switch on the front so you can turn the speed up or down according to whether things are getting too hot inside or not. There are also two temperature displays so you can easily see how hot it is inside.
There is a lot of space inside this case which makes access easy, the power supply that comes with it is a 500 watt unit, which will probably be enough for most users, but maybe not up to heavy demands.
There are USB and firewire ports at the front for easy access. However there are no audio plugs up front.
Overall this is a fantastic case, and for the price it better be fantastic. You get a durable and easy to use case with a whole host of cool extras. There will certainly be no need to get a new one for a very long time.
